Therapeutic massage is used to treat general pain or pathologies including:
- Carpal Tunnel
- Frozen Shoulder
- Postural Imbalances
- Plantar faciitis
- Motor Vehicle and Sports Accident injuries
Often, a combination of modalities are used to treat pain including hot and cold packs, passive stretching and Range of Motion, Soft Tissue Release, Deep Tissue Massage, Myo Fascial Release, and Trigger Point & Adhesion work. These methods are not always a relaxing treatment, however it does help to relieve pain and restore function. This treatment can take anywhere from 1/2 an hour to 2 hours and is usually applied to a specific area. It is performed on a table with draped sheets with only the area being treated exposed. These treatments are usually performed directly on the skin. Your therapist will give you stretches, exercises and home care to go along with your therapy.
